Do you remember Game 1 of the 1988 World Series when the Dodgers Kirk Gibson (who could barely walk from an injury), came up in the 9th inning and hit the game winning home run to beat the Oakland A's? That's considered one of the most iconic home runs in modern day baseball. But let me tell you, the grand slam that director J. J. Abrams hit with the 7th installment of the Star Wars franchise makes that look like T-ball!

Obviously, I can't and will not talk about the details surrounding the film, but let me assure you, it's a contender for the best in the saga.

For starters, from a comedic aspect, it provides the most laughs and one-liners of any of the other films, but still does not take away from the mood of the story. Action sequences abound and the effects are simply mind blowing. The entire story line is fresh and unexpected, so the direction it eventually takes will leave the audience eager for more.

A true fan will definitely appreciate the return of Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), the droids (R2D2, C-3PO), and Chewbacca the Wookie, but will embrace newcomers Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) with open arms. It's no secret that the trio will carry the story line along into the next two films, and judging from their superb performance in the Force Awakens, those will be a cinematic experience like no other.

If you're not a Star Wars film fan, first off, shame on you, haha! But seriously, you will become one after watching this film. Do your best to keep away from reading about any spoilers. I've already seen some pop up here and there on Facebook and Twitter. Trust me when I say, you'll want to see this film without knowing anything about it, simply put, it's just that good!
